  1. East Dorset Branch, 26.75 faults.
  2. Dorchester Branch, 37 faults.
  3. Calne Branch, 68.25 faults.

Judges comments - Tim Bayton and Guy Collins

General; Better for tenor to push a method than to hold it back.

Band 1 (GST) Peal speed 3h 22m. Felt the bells would be happier at a quicker speed.

Band 2 (CC) Rang for 8m 38s, instead of the 7m required. This led to further faults.

Band 3 (GST) Peal speed 3h 1m.

  2. Wimborne, 14.5 faults.
  3. Melksham, 21 faults.
  4. Preston, 27 faults.
  5. Donhead St Mary, 33 faults.
  6. Lyneham, 34 faults.

Judges comments - Mark and Jill Hansford

General; Light bells that led some bands to ring too fast.

Band 1 (GSD) Brilliant piece of ringing, lovely rhythm and speed. Excellent. Didn’t expect to hear any more ringing of that standard, but ...

Band 2 (PBD) Brilliant piece of ringing, lovely rhythm and speed. Excellent.

Band 3 (CC) Good effort. Some quick hand stroke leads and some were too quick, which led to minor faults. Got better at end of the test piece.

Band 4 (CC) Rang closed hand strokes and were judged as open, as had not announced before ringing that they would ring closed. This led to many faults. Good rhythm with only a few clips.

Band 5 (GSD) Nice ringing. Took some time to settle down. Last half was good.

Band 6 (GSD) Practice was quick. Bells got away for this band. Nice rhythm, good changes.

Band 7 (PBD) Tried to slow the bells down a bit; he thought it was better for that, though she didn’t. Different rhythms as some bells slowed & others didn’t. Faults came from the backstrokes.

Band 8 (GSD) Good rhythm but spoilt by some unnecessary clipping.

Band 9 (CC) Very nice changes. Also very quick at the hand strokes.
